Colorado Discover Ability (CDA) is the Adaptive Ski and Snowboard School at Powderhorn Resort in western Colorado. We have a complete inventory of adaptive equipment for instruction.

Private Ski and Snowboard Lessons

Make giant strides by customizing a private session to address your needs. Individual lessons in alpine skiing, snowboarding, or snowshoeing with one of our pro instructors will empower you to conquer the mountain and increase your comfort zone. In our lessons the focus is always on your goals, whether you want to improve your technical skills or simply need a partner to explore the mountain.

Family Lessons

Enjoy learning together through our Family Lessons, which combine ski, snowboard and adaptive instruction in the same class. The shared experience on snow will satisfy the diverse needs and goals of every member of the group. You can bring up to five family members and friends of all ages and ability levels.

Lesson will be conducted by a team of instructors.

Minimum of 2 people and up to 5, any age combination.

Tag-Along Lessons

Family members who already know how to ski or snowboard can learn the proper techniques to assist the family member or a friend with special needs on the hill. Inquire about the Tag-Along Lessons when making reservations.


Group Lessons for Agencies Serving People with Disabilities

Full Day: $45 per person, from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. with one-hour lunch break

Ski Buddy or Sighted Guide for the Blind or Visually Impaired

Independent skiers and snowboarders can request a Ski Buddy. It's best to call the office to reserve a Ski Buddy.

Half-Day: $45     Full Day: $65 (from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with one-hour lunch break)

  • Full Day: from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. with one-hour lunch break
  • Half Day: from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

All prices include lift ticket, instructor and equipment rental.

If possible, please schedule your lesson a few days in advance.

We require that all our customers wear helmets while skiing or snowboarding. We can provide you with a helmet if you don't have one.

Personal attendant care is NOT provided by CDA. We welcome personal attendants to join the lesson to provide care on the mountain.
