Become a Volunteer
Thinking about volunteering?
Volunteers are at the heart of our ability to carry out our mission. Each year, more than 50 people volunteer in CDA's winter and summer programs, contributing hundreds of hours of service. We invite you to join these volunteers, along with our dedicated staff, as we partner with our clients to make the outdoors a place filled with possibilities.

With many different volunteer opportunities available each year, we work with you to find a position that addresses your reasons for wanting to volunteer and that allows us to expand the services we provide to our clients and our community. For those volunteers craving adventure, we have opportunties where you'll assist our staff and clients on the mountain or the river. We also need volunteers to help with administrative tasks and special projects.

There is no typical CDA volunteer: our volunteers come from a variety of cultural backgrounds and ages. Once you commit to volunteering with Colorado Discover Ability, you'll receive training designed to enhance your volunteer experience through individual instruction or a variety of clinics focusing on adaptive recreation. You do not need to have any previous medical training or background. Winter program volunteers will also be eligible for assistance in obtaining adaptive and alpine skiing/snowboarding training through PSIA/AASI clinics and certifications.
